Mulga, an epic Sydney based art dude with a big heart, has collaborated with Ifeed Refugees to help fund our next project. We are auctioning a LIMITED EDITION Mulga original artwork hand painted onto an Ifeed market bag, with all proceeds going towards the establishment of an Asylum Seeker Community Garden in Thomastown.

Ifeed Refugees is launching this new project to establish a community garden with our partner Whittlesea Community Connections. Community gardens are increasingly recognised as a tool to facilitate educational opportunities, which provide many physical, social, economic, nutritional, cultural and environmental benefits. By creating a community garden in the vicinity of an existing community centre we will increase opportunities to share knowledge and strengthen social bonds, and to reduce isolation and mental health stressors.

Whittlesea Community Connections in Thomastown has space for 7 large garden beds, and they have secured funding to establish a large kitchen which will enable them to run cooking programs, and hold free lunches and dinners for their community. To aid the ongoing costs of these programs, we need a bit of help from you so that we can make the garden happen.

Purchase with Purpose! You can help by bidding on the Mulga art bag, to score a cool bag and help us buy some garden stuff needed for the project. For the rest of May, every purchase of a tee or bag will also throw $20 into the community garden project. Get buying, and get bidding!

Bids for the bag will start at $100
